Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is hiring a full-time Store Manager in Training (MIT) for our UoSA store at 5753 Old Shell Road, Mobile AL 36608. This MIT role will lead a team, supervise operations, and ensure top-notch customer service in a fast-paced bakery-and-delivery environment.

You’ll assist the Store Ops Manager with ordering, inventory, and scheduling, while mentoring 2–5 staff and conducting initial interviews in the manager’s absence. Enjoy growth opportunities and a fun team culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail setting.
• Experience conducting in-person interviews of hourly staff.
• POS system experience required.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Word and applicant tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform as Manager-on-Duty during scheduled shifts when the Store Ops Manager is not present.
• Supervise, train and coach 2–5 team members in cookie sales and deliveries.
• Lead onboarding and initial training for new hourly staff.
• Conduct initial interviews for potential hires when the manager is absent.
• Support Store Ops Manager with ordering, inventory control and scheduling.
• Uphold Insomnia Cookies’ standards and ensure high levels of customer service.

What will I do as a MIT with Insomnia Cookies?

• Perform as Manager-on-Duty during scheduled shifts when Store Ops Manager (GM) is not present
• Supervise, train and coach 2-5 team members engaged in both cookie sales and customer deliveries
• Lead new hourly staff onboarding and initial training
• Conduct initial interviews for potential new hires (Cookie Crew, Shift Leaders and Delivery Drivers) in the manager’s absence
• Support Store Ops Manager with ordering, inventory control and scheduling
• Hold staff accountable to Insomnia Cookies’ standards (baking, uniform, company policies, etc.)
• Upselling and overall customer service excellence - Ensuring all team members are also upselling and providing the best customer service

Desired skills/experience:

• At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant or retail store
• Prior experience conducting in-person interviews of hourly support staff
• Prior Point of Sale (POS) systems experience
• Ability to utilize MS Office, Word and our Applicant Tracking System
• Ability to work a 4-5 day work week and 1-2 mid-to-late shifts throughout the latter part of the week (Thurs- Sun)
• Must be 18 years of age or older and have legal eligibility for employment in the United States
