Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is seeking a Store Manager in Training for our Eau Claire, WI location. This MIT position focuses on developing leadership in a fast-growing, hospitality-driven environment with a team of cookie specialists.

You will step in as Manager-on-Duty during shifts, train 2-5 teammates, participate in interviews, and support ordering and scheduling while upholding brand standards and delivering outstanding customer service.

Qualifications

• 1+ year supervisory experience in restaurant or retail.
• Experience conducting in-person interviews for hourly staff.
• POS systems experience and MS Office proficiency.
• Able to work a 4-5 day week (Thu–Sun).
• Must be 18+ and eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Act as Manager-on-Duty during scheduled shifts when GM is not present.
• Supervise, train and coach 2-5 team members in both cookie sales and deliveries.
• Lead onboarding and initial training for new hourly staff.
• Conduct initial interviews for new hires in the manager's absence.
• Support ordering, inventory control and scheduling for the store.
• Ensure staff adhere to Insomnia Cookies’ standards (baking, uniforms, policies).
• Drive upselling and overall excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform as Manager-on-Duty during scheduled shifts when Store Ops Manager (GM) is not present.
• Supervise, train and coach 2-5 team members engaged in both cookie sales and customer deliveries.
• Lead new hourly staff onboarding and initial training.
• Conduct initial interviews for potential new hires (Cookie Crew, Shift Leaders and Delivery Drivers) in the manager’s absence.
• Support Store Ops Manager with ordering, inventory control and scheduling.
• Hold staff accountable to Insomnia Cookies’ standards (baking, uniform, company policies, etc.).
• Upselling and overall customer service excellence – ensuring all team members are also upselling and providing the best customer service.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant or retail store
• Prior experience conducting in-person interviews of hourly support staff
• Prior Point of Sale (POS) systems experienceAbility to utilize MS Office, Word and our Applicant Tracking System
• Ability to work a 4-5 day work week and 1-2 mid-to-late shifts throughout the latter part of the week (Thursday – Sunday)
• Must be 18 years of age or older and have legal eligibility for employment in the United States
