Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily store operations, including staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service leadership. This role develops internal candidates for the Store Manager position and is for a limited period.

The candidate will assist in recruiting, stocking, and processing store paperwork, while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures. Travel to nearby stores may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit controls.
• Ability to recruit, hire and train qualified applicants.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and preparing inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Maintain cash controls and security practices.
