Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the store manager in supervising employees, staffing, inventory, stocking, receiving, paperwork, and store needs. This role is a limited-period development path for future Store Manager opportunities.

You will help recruit, supervise staff, manage merchandising, and ensure cash controls and store security. Travel to multiple stores may be required; strong customer service and compliance with policies are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Experience in retail is a plus.
• Ability to recruit, hire and train staff while ensuring compliance with laws and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking.
• Assist in inventory management and cycle counts.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Participate in opening/closing, bank deposits, and cash handling controls.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete all required paperwork on time.
