Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, managing inventory, stocking and receiving, paperwork, and overall store needs. This role is designed to develop externally for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

The role requires a high school diploma, retail experience preferred, and the ability to lead teams, maintain cash controls, and ensure a safe, well-stocked store while travel to nearby

Qualifications

• Read and interpret documents and procedures.
• Perform basic math and inventory calculations.
• Understand cash handling and deposit controls.
• Learn IBM cash register functions and reporting.
• Know inventory and merchandising practices.
• Adhere to cash, safety and security policies.
• Recruit, hire, and train store staff; comply with laws.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Support store merchandising and price tagging per guidance.
• Assist in inventory management and reporting.
• Help meet in-stock targets and manage losses.
• Provide strong customer service leadership.
• Follow policies, participate in opening/closing activities.
• Ensure funds are deposited securely and cash controls are followed.
• Maintain clean, safe, well-stocked store environment.
• Operate store in manager's absence and review business trends.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
