Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, staffing, inventory management, stocking, receiving, paperwork and daily store needs. This temporary role helps develop external candidates for the Store Manager position.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, in-stock targets and cashier/accountability while ensuring a clean, safe and customer-friendly store environment. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to recruit, hire and train staff to fulfill store needs.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory and loss prevention policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities and store merchandising guidance.
• Support inventory management, damages, markdowns and stock control.
• Monitor in-stock targets and assist with ordering practices.
• Provide customer service leadership and maintain store standards.
• Oversee opening/closing, cash handling and security practices.
