Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in all store processes, including supervision, staffing, inventory, merchandising, and daily paperwork. This role is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position.

You will assist in recruiting, stocking, pricing, and inventory control while upholding company policies and delivering superior customer service. The position requires travel and availability for opening/closing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail experience preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and perform basic math.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including deposit controls.
• Ability to learn IBM cash register functions and generate reports.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and proper pricing of merchandise.
• Manage inventory processes including damages, markdowns, and stock levels.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and maintain store cleanliness.
