Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, staff supervision, inventory and merchandising, and ensuring store standards.

This role provides development for the Store Manager track and is held for a limited period, with a focus on customer service leadership and policy adherence.

You will participate in opening/closing, cash control, and help drive sales while maintaining a safe, well-stocked store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and safety controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking according to established practice.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and proper paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Adhere to company procedures and policies as outlined in the handbook and SOPs.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure funds are deposited safely and cash controls are followed.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Operate store in the store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete paperwork and documentation according to guidelines.
