Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Rochester Hills, MI is seeking a store leadership professional to oversee staffing, training, and day-to-day operations.

You’ll recruit, select, and develop team members and ensure exceptional customer service while driving sales and controllable costs. You will mentor team members across departments, promote safety, and implement Meijer's standards and the Friendly Initiative in every interaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Responsible for staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development needs for team members, and involvement with promotions decisions.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Mentors and coaches the team to exceed customer service and sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensures the team is thoroughly trained in all aspects of their jobs and completed all required training.
