Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store operations, staffing, and customer service efforts. You will oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, and daily sales performance while ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws.

Responsibilities include recruiting and training staff, conducting evaluations, managing inventory levels, and maintaining a safe, well-organized store environment. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to recruit, train and develop staff in a fast-paced setting.
• Knowledge of safety, cash handling, and loss prevention practices.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to labor laws and company policies.
• Provide proper training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; address gaps or counseling needs.
• Make recommendations regarding pay rates and advancement.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open/close store as required, with minimum frequency.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Manage stock levels and in-stock targets; review ordering plans weekly.
• Facilitate merchandising, pricing, and signage presentation.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, including damages and shrink.
• Ensure cashier integrity, key control and cash procedures.
• Provide superior customer service leadership; maintain a safe store.
• Ensure store is clean, organized and properly equipped.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and paperwork deadlines.
