Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in executing store processes, supervising employees, assisting with staffing, inventory management, stocking and receiving. This role is a limited-period development path for external candidates aiming for the Store Manager position.

The incumbent will help recruit and staff, oversee merchandising and inventory accuracy, manage cash controls, maintain a safe, clean environment, and participate in opening/closing duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in retail environments is advantageous.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging of merchandise.
• Assist in inventory management and pricing of merchandise.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies as outlined in manuals.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure secure handling of company funds and cash controls.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operate store in the absence of the store manager.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete paperwork and documentation according to guidelines.
