Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, staffing, inventory, merchandising and customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. This role is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position and to be held for a limited period, with travel to nearby stores as needed.

You will model company procedures, open/close the store, and help drive sales while ensuring a safe, well-organized shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Experience in retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to supervise staff and manage inventory.

Responsibilities

• Assist in staffing and recruitment activities.
• Oversee merchandising and pricing to follow store standards.
• Support inventory management and cycle counts.
• Lead customer service and store operations when manager is absent.
• Ensure cash handling and security procedures.
