Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, staff supervision, inventory control and merchandising across a Dollar General store. This role is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position, with responsibilities including recruitment, opening/closing, cash controls, and ensuring store standards.

The successful candidate will foster customer service leadership, maintain safe, clean stores, and help drive sales

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Compliance with federal labor laws and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking according to established practices.
• Assist in inventory management and audits.
• Follow prescribed ordering to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies.
• Participate in store opening/closing.
• Ensure secure cash handling and deposits.
• Maintain clean, safe store environment.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete paperwork per guidelines.
