Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in supervising employees, stocking, inventory, and store operations. This role is designed to develop an external candidate for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, customer service leadership, and adherence to company policies. Compensation and benefits follow Dollar General standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at certain locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by stocking and presenting merchandise.
• Assist in inventory management and loss prevention activities.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure secure handling of company funds and cash controls.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Operate store in the manager's absence and review business trends.
