Job summary

Dollar General Store Manager Candidate supports the Store Manager in day-to-day operations, staffing, inventory management, stocking and receiving, and paperwork. The role is designed to develop external candidates for future Store Manager roles and to be held for a limited period.

Responsibilities include assisting with recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, opening/closing, and ensuring cash controls and safety procedures are followed while delivering excellent customer service and

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience in a retail environment is beneficial.
Ability to read and follow procedures and safety rules.

Responsibilities

Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
Support store merchandising and staging of merchandise according to policy.
Assist with inventory management including damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork.
Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
Provide customer service leadership and model company procedures.
Participate in opening and closing duties and cash handling routines.
Help maintain a clean, safe store environment and proper cash controls.
Assist in reviewing operating statements for trends and opportunities.
Complete required paperwork and documentation on time.
