Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in supervising employees, managing staffing, inventory, stocking, receiving, and paperwork. This role develops external candidates for the Store Manager position and is limited to a defined period.

Responsibilities include recruiting, merchandising, inventory controls, and ensuring in-stock targets, cash controls, safety, and customer service excellence in a fast-paced retail environment.

Formación

• Read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
• Know cash handling, cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Learn and operate IBM cash register functions to generate reports.
• Understand inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Know cash, facility and safety controls (deposits, keys, SAFE/STARS).
• Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and termination practices including legal compliance.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Problem-solving abilities across varied situations.
• Preference may be given to bilingual Spanish speakers.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising, staging, stocking, signing, and pricing of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and conduct inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies as outlined in manuals and communications.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of all company funds in the bank.
• Assist in cashier accountability and cash-control procedures.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment for customers and employees.
• Operate store in store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends, expenses, and opportunities.
• Complete paperwork and documentation per guidelines.
