Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager with effective store processes, supervision, inventory management, stocking, and receiving. This role is designed to develop an external candidate for the Store Manager role for a limited period.

The position involves recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, and ensuring financial integrity through proper cash handling and security practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and pricing and staging of merchandise.
• Assist in inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies as outlined in the handbook.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure cash deposit safety and security procedures.
• Assist in maintaining clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operate store in the manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete paperwork according to guidelines and deadlines.
