Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate in Ohio to assist the Store Manager with staffing, inventory, merchandising, and daily store operations. This role focuses on developing external candidates for future Store Manager positions and will be for a limited period.

You will help with recruiting, in-store merchandising, inventory accuracy, reporting, and ensuring customer service leadership. This position requires adherence to company policies and loss prevention controls.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents and procedures.
• Math skills for calculations and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.
• Familiarity with IBM cash register functions and reporting.
• Understanding of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Knowledge of cash, safety and store security policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Support store merchandising and proper presentation of merchandise.
• Assist in inventory management, damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to maintain in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and store operations coverage.
• Adhere to policies, open/close routines, and cash controls.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete all required paperwork within deadlines.
