Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in supervising staff, merchandising, inventory, stocking and receiving, paperwork, and store needs in a fast-paced Ohio environment.

This role helps develop external candidates for the Store Manager role and requires adherence to company policies while delivering strong customer service. It involves assisting with opening/closing, cash controls, and daily store operations across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at certain locations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise and using fixtures.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and ensure in-stock targets are met.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to maintain stock levels.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies as outlined in the handbook and SOPs.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of funds and maintain cash control.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment for customers and employees.
• Operate store in the absence of store manager.
• Analyze operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
