Job summary

ShopRite - Store Detective (Saker NJ) is responsible for protecting store assets and delivering a safe, high-quality customer experience. The role involves identifying shrink, deterring theft, and working with loss prevention tools such as Lane Hawk and Smart Store to ensure security across assigned stores.

Essential duties include detecting theft, coordinating with store management, and maintaining standard operating procedures for safety, security, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak English proficiently.
• Stand/walk for full shifts.
• Regularly lift 25 lbs. and occasionally 50 lbs.
• Interact with customers in a friendly, helpful manner.
• Work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Loss Prevention tools to identify and minimize loss.
• Detect and apprehend individuals for theft per policy and law.
• Represent the company in related actions.
• Participate in investigations as assigned.
• Propose improvements to reduce shrink and vulnerabilities.
• Maintain awareness of store security and safety standards.
• Greet customers and provide assistance as needed.
• Adhere to cash handling procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Follow all company rules and safety policies.
