Job summary

ShopRite of Lawrenceville is seeking a Store Detective to help keep our stores safe and secure. You will monitor customers, associates, and vendors, using observation and CCTV to reduce loss and protect company assets while delivering good customer service.

Responsibilities include conducting investigations, following company policies, and assisting in training. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work varied shifts in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to travel to various store locations, if applicable.
• Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and follow attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Loss Prevention reporting and applications to identify and minimize potential loss.
• Detect and apprehend Customers, Associates, and Vendors for theft following policy and law.
• Represent the Company in criminal actions as a result of apprehensions.
• Participate in special investigations when assigned.
• Communicate vulnerabilities to Store Management and Loss Prevention Specialist.
• Understand departmental procedures to detect policy violations.
• Coordinate activities for maximum productivity and efficiency.
• Maintain security and monitor customer actions; report abnormalities.
• Regularly lift and move merchandise weighing 25–50 lbs.
• Maintain a clean, safe work/shopping environment and adhere to safety policies.
