Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, inventory, stocking and receiving, and daily operations while developing external candidates for the Store Manager role.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory management, cash controls, opening/closing, and ensuring a safe, clean store. Note: travel with limited overnight stays may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Ability to learn IBM cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and pricing according to established practices.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management including damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open and close store duties and maintain cash controls.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
