Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising employees, managing staffing, inventory, stocking and receiving, paperwork, and store needs. The role is temporary, designed to develop a candidate for the Store Manager position.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory, cash handling, and store operations, while upholding company policies and ensuring a safe, well-maintained store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or strongly preferred.
• Two or more years in a leadership/managerial role.
• Two or more years of experience in a retail grocery setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Support store merchandising and proper pricing of merchandise.
• Assist with inventory management, damages, markdowns, and reporting.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and operational oversight.
• Model company policies and SOPs to staff.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure cash handling accuracy and deposit controls.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-stocked store environment.
• Operate store in manager's absence and review financial statements for trends.
