Job summary

Dollar General Store Manager Candidate supports the Store Manager in effective implementation of store processes, including employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, stocking and receiving, paperwork, and store needs. This position is for an external candidate and held for a limited period.

The role includes supervising staff, aiding in recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, and cash handling to maintain financial integrity and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to learn and perform IBM cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and conduct inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in store manager’s absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation.
