Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, merchandising, inventory management, and daily store operations. This temporary role aims to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position.

The candidate will assist in recruiting, manage stock efficiently, ensure pricing accuracy, and uphold cashier accountability and security procedures. Travel to nearby stores may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred in some locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and pricing according to guidelines.
• Assist in inventory management including damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in the manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
