Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory, merchandising, and store operations. This role focuses on developing the external candidate for the Store Manager position and will serve for a limited period.

Responsibilities include assisting in recruiting, stocking merchandise, managing inventories, ensuring cash controls, and delivering strong customer service while maintaining store standards and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking to company standards.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and proper purchasing practices.
• Follow prescribed ordering to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and ensure store safety and cash controls.
• Support store opening/closing and daily operations.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
