Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, staffing, inventory, merchandising, and cash handling. This temporary role develops external candidates for the Store Manager level and runs for a limited period.

You will lead by example, recruit and train staff, ensure in-stock targets, deliver superior customer service, and maintain safe, clean stores while controlling losses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams and safety rules.
• Some locations may prefer bilingual Spanish speakers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by facilitating staging, stocking and pricing according to established practices.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management including damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Act as a role model by following company procedures and policies.
