Job summary

Dollar General Store is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist in implementing store processes, supervise staff, and manage inventory. This role supports the development of an external candidate for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

The candidate will help recruit, merchandise, handle cash controls, ensure compliance, and participate in opening/closing activities while maintaining a safe, well-stocked environment.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret documents and procedures; follow safety rules and manuals.
• Handle cash, deposits, and cashier accountability per policy.
• Recruit, hire, train, and counsel store staff.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and merchandising standards.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at certain locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Support store merchandising and pricing per manager guidance.
• Contribute to inventory management, receipts, and controls.
• Monitor in-stock targets and ordering practices.
• Provide customer service leadership and store coverage.
• Follow company procedures and participate in opening/closing tasks.
• Help ensure cash handling integrity and safety compliance.
• Maintain clean, organized, safe store environment.
