Job summary

Books A Million in Strongsville, OH seeks a Manager In Training to support day-to-day store operations with the management team, drive sales, and deliver high standards of customer service. Upon successful program completion, the MIT may be assigned a store location.

You will lead the store as Manager On-Duty with the team, plan activities, train staff, handle customer issues, and ensure merchandising and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in business-related field preferred
• Previous experience in a supervisor role
• Strong customer service skills
• Demonstrated ability to act in a mature and conscientious manner
• Ability to supervise a large number of associates
• Strong decision-making, communication, and merchandising skills
• Successful completion of all required background screenings

Responsibilities

• Leads store operations to maximize profits and customer service per policy.
• Acts as Manager On-Duty with the management team.
• Plans and directs daily store activities under the General Manager.
• Maintains customer service quality and resolves complaints.
• Oversees merchandising, cleanliness and product flow.
• Trains and develops associates and managers.
