Job summary

Dollar General Store is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in executing store processes, supervising employees, staffing, inventory management, stocking and receiving, and completing paperwork.

This limited-period role helps foster external candidates for the Store Manager position, offering exposure to merchandising, cash handling, safety, and daily store operations in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and perform basic math.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and POS systems.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and inventory management.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
