Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store manager to oversee all aspects of store operations, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing and support. You will recruit, train, evaluate staff, and ensure the store opens and closes effectively each day.

Responsibilities include managing staffing levels, monitoring sales, inventory control, cashier accountability, safety compliance, and providing excellent customer service leadership.

Qualifications

• Understand store operations including staffing, cash handling and compliance with policies.
• Experience in retail management and supervising teams.
• Ability to recruit, coach and evaluate employees.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to labor laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps and take corrective actions.
• Ensure proper pay rate recommendations and advancement discussions.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings to enforce policies.
• Open and close the store daily as needed.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends and control expenses.
