Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in running a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus.

You will supervise staff, assist with merchandise presentation, deposits, and loss prevention while maintaining store profitability and assets. This role requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to work varied shifts, including opening and closing duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months of supervisory experience are preferred.
• Ability to follow company policies and procedures and maintain store security.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers, operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training.
• Stock, restock, and rotate merchandise; build merchandise displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and ensure merchandise is presented per standards.
• Support store financial integrity through cashier accountability and deposits.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
