Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-focused store. Under the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, manage merchandising, complete paperwork, and prepare deposits while protecting assets and reducing losses.

You will lead frontline teams, handle scheduling, training, and safety meetings, maintain planograms, ensure cash controls, and support store operations in the manager's absence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service, communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership, greet customers, and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise through stocking, restocking, planograms, and displays.
• Support accurate inventory, cash controls, and bank deposits.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
