Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store functions, customer service, and team development in Garnett, Kansas. You will assist with opening/closing procedures, organize merchandise, and help maintain store standards and safety.

You will also help train Store Associates, manage payroll and scheduling tasks, and ensure a friendly, efficient shopping environment for customers while protecting store assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and maintain payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain store areas to company standards and protect assets including store cash.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and lead/ develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and friendly environment for customers and associates.
