Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations with a customer-first focus. You will assist the Store Manager with supervising staff, merchandising, deposits, scheduling, and opening/closing the store.

The role includes stocking, cashier duties, planograms, inventory control, and protecting company assets while maximizing profitability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and handle diverse situations.
• Good organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to read diagrams, safety rules and operation manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math and cash handling tasks.
• Familiarity with cash handling policies and deposit procedures.
• Ability to drive to bank for deposits as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store as needed, at least two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise with stock, restocking and display planning.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and manage shrink through proper processes.
• Support planogram implementation and proper product presentation.
