Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development at our Sandwich, IL location. The role involves merchandising, opening/closing procedures, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention while maintaining a welcoming, safe store environment.

You will help supervise and train store associates, ensure a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom, and uphold company policies through leadership and clear communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform extensive walking, standing, bending, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions/concerns.
• Assist with merchandising and stock organization from delivery to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain store security, cash handling, and deposits.
• Support payroll, scheduling, and record-keeping; assist loss prevention efforts.
• Supervise, train, and develop store associates; maintain clean, safe store environment.
