Job summary

Dollar Tree in Sandwich, IL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help supervise staff, assist with merchandising, and ensure store standards are met.

This role requires strong communication, physical stamina, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. You will implement corporate directives, maintain promotional displays, and uphold a safe, welcoming environment for customers and associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily store operations and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash control.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies; supervise and develop store associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restocked bathrooms, swept/mopped floors, and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
