Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team in Hanover Park, IL. You will help with store operations, customer service, and team development, while ensuring daily tasks run smoothly and safety standards are followed.

Responsibilities include organizing merchandise, opening and closing procedures, payroll and scheduling support, loss prevention, maintaining a neat sales floor and stockroom, and providing friendly service to customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as part of the job.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and ensure store assets are secure.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment with professional interactions.
