Job summary

Speedway is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead store operations alongside the General Manager, providing supervision, coaching, and customer service leadership. The role emphasizes retention, safety, merchandising, and timely inventory management in a fast-paced convenience store setting.

The ideal candidate will guide staff, ensure sanitary standards, and drive sales through strong operational controls and a customer-focused attitude.

Qualifications

Supervisory experience leading a store team.
Strong customer service leadership and coaching abilities.
Experience with inventory management and merchandising programs.

Responsibilities

Oversee and provide customer service leadership, training, and coaching, alongside the General Manager, for all store employees.
Maintain high employee retention by developing leaders, empowering staff, and encouraging productivity.
Ensure health and sanitation standards; keep store and foodservice area clean and stocked.
Assist in implementing merchandising and marketing programs to maximize sales and profits while maintaining asset controls.
Handle cash transactions, fuel transactions, and promote the Speedy Rewards program.
Order products, manage inventory levels, and verify deliveries.
Maintain a valid Driver’s License and auto insurance for area pricing surveys.
Possess a high school diploma/GED or college degree.
Multi-task, perform repeated bending, standing, reaching, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
