Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, and ensure merchandise flow between delivery, stockroom and sales floor.

You will also participate in opening/closing procedures, process directives, and maintain promotional displays while safeguarding assets and supporting staff growth in a high-energy retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and develop staff.
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and fulfill store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll and scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
