Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. Duties include assisting with day-to-day activities, helping customers, and organizing merchandise from delivery to floor.

You will support opening/closing, promotions, ordering, payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention while maintaining store cleanliness and asset protection. A positive, safe environment with professional interactions is emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays and ensure freshness and accuracy.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash receipts.
• Support loss prevention and protect store assets including cash.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates; ensure a safe and respectful environment.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; perform other duties as assigned.
