Job summary

Ross Stores in Inver Grove Heights, MN is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead a specific store area and oversee operations when acting as Manager on Duty. You will open/close the store, supervise Associates, ensure a friendly shopping environment and maintain store standards.

Responsibilities include enforcing safety, training staff on cash registers, managing staffing, and supporting daily merchandising, stockroom, and front-end tasks to deliver a smooth customer experience.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintains safe and secure store environment.
• Supervises Associates and executes store operations.
• Ensures proper merchandise presentation and clean work areas.
• Executes company standards for merchandising, loss prevention and front-end procedures.
• Trains and coaches staff on cash handling and POS usage.
• Performs administrative duties as assigned by Store Manager.
