Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, staffing and customer service leadership. You will recruit and train staff, manage performance, and ensure compliance with company policies while maintaining a safe, clean store environment.

The role requires strong leadership, inventory control, and adherence to cash handling and security procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to laws and company policies; ensures store is properly staffed.
• Provides training, conducts performance evaluations, identifies gaps for solutions or counseling including termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinates meetings to ensure safety and policies.
• Ensures store staffing and opening/closing; opens/closes at least two times per week.
• Evaluates operating statements for sales, profitability, turn, and expenses.
• Manages ordering and stock planning to meet in-stock targets; reviews BSR and cycle counts.
• Facilitates stocking and storage of merchandise following company processes.
• Ensures merchandise presentation, pricing, and signage per standards.
• Maintains inventory accuracy through damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Ensures store financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Provides superior customer service leadership and maintains a safe, clean store environment.
• Ensures tools and equipment are available to perform tasks.
• Adheres to SOPs, handbook, and communications; ensures policy compliance.
• Completes all paperwork and documentation on time.
