Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support a clean, organized, customer-focused store environment. You will help supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, complete deposits and paperwork, and perform stocking and cashiering duties to maximize profitability and minimize losses.

You will assist with scheduling, training, and safety discussions, ensure compliance with company policies, and help maintain accurate inventory while protecting assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of retail experience.
• 6 months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers; operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling and training of employees; conduct safety meetings; ensure policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise with receiving, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; control damages and markdowns; process paperwork and deposits.
• Assist with planograms and ensure proper product presentation.
• Maintain financial integrity through cashier accountability, cash handling, and deposits.
• Support store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
