Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Proficient at basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.
• Ability to operate cash registers and generate reports.
• Understanding of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Awareness of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance.
• Familiarity with cash, facility and safety control policies.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to solve problems in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to federal and state laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for solutions and/or counseling.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinates meetings and events to ensure safety and policies.
• Ensures the store is adequately staffed and opened/closed each day; opens and closes multiple times per week.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify business trends, profitability, and errors.
• Manages ordering to meet stock targets; reviews planning and inventory issues weekly.
• Facilitates staging, stocking and storage of merchandise as per company processes.
• Ensures merchandise presentation and pricing adhere to standards; uses fixtures effectively.
• Maintains accurate inventory levels through damages control, markdowns, scanning, and paperwork.
• Upholds cashier accountability and cash control procedures to protect financial integrity.
• Delivers superior customer service leadership.
• Keeps store clean, organized, and safe for customers and employees.
• Ensures availability of tools required to perform tasks.
• Follows SOPs and company communications; ensures compliance.
• Completes all paperwork on time and to guidelines.
