Job summary

Dollar General in Upper Freehold Township, NJ is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store operations, staffing, inventory, and customer service. You will recruit, train, and evaluate staff, manage schedules and merchandising standards, and drive sales with a focus on loss prevention and safe, compliant operations.

You will ensure proper staffing, open/close procedures, and adherence to company policies while delivering excellent customer experiences.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Retail management experience in a store setting preferred.
Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
Ability to read and interpret various documents and safety rules.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with recruiting, interviewing, and employee counseling.

Responsibilities

Recruit, select and retain qualified employees in compliance with federal and state laws and policies.
Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, and counsel up to termination.
Recommend pay rates and advancement for staff.
Communicate performance and safety expectations; lead meetings and events.
Open and close the store reliably each day.
Analyze operating statements to identify sales, profitability, and inventory trends.
Order and manage stock levels to meet in-stock targets and review weekly planning.
