Job summary

Dollar General in Irvington, NJ is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store operations, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling and staffing. You will recruit, train and develop staff, uphold company policies, monitor performance, and ensure excellent customer service while controlling costs and maintaining a safe, well-organized store.

Responsibilities include cash control, scheduling, inventory management, and compliance with federal and state laws, with opportunities

Qualifications

• Must be able to recruit, hire and retain qualified staff according to laws and policies.
• Must train staff, conduct evaluations and address gaps with coaching or termination.
• Oversee pay decisions and advancement opportunities.
• Set expectations for performance, safety and store policies.

Responsibilities

• Open the store at least twice per week and close at least twice per week to meet scheduling needs.
• Review sales and inventory data weekly to identify trends and opportunities.
• Ensure merchandising standards, pricing, signage and stocking targets are met.
• Maintain cashier accountability and strict cash handling controls.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and a safe shopping environment.
• Complete paperwork and compliance documents accurately and on time.
