Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead all aspects of daily store operations, including staffing, training, scheduling, and performance management. You will drive sales, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the store, supervising cash handling and security, and maintaining a clean, well-organized shopping environment in accordance with SOPs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 1 year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions, and policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policies; ensure store is staffed.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and counsel employees as needed.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations regularly; lead meetings to reinforce policies.
• Open and close the store as required, ensuring security and operations.
• Review sales, profitability, and inventory trends to guide decisions.
• Manage ordering, stock levels, and replenishment to meet in-stock targets.
• Escort merchandising standards, pricing, and signage per company practices.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, controls on damages and shrink.
• Ensure cashier accountability and secure cash handling.
• Lead customer service and maintain a clean, safe store environment.
• Follow SOPs and complete paperwork on deadlines.
