Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store operations, from ordering and stocking to selling and staffing. You will drive performance, train and evaluate employees, ensure safety compliance, and maintain inventory integrity while delivering superior customer service.

Responsibilities include open/close duties, reviewing sales and expenses, and ensuring proper cash handling and security procedures. Must be ready to manage a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams and procedures; basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and counsel staff as needed.
• Set pay rate considerations and advancement paths.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Open/close the store regularly; ensure proper staffing and operations.
• Evaluate sales, profitability and inventory metrics; manage expenses.
• Order and review stock levels; manage in-stock targets weekly.
• Stock merchandise following company processes; ensure accurate pricing and signage.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; control damages and shrink.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash control; uphold security practices.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and a safe store environment.
