Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store operations, staffing, and customer service. You will lead recruiting, training, performance evaluations, and safety compliance to ensure a well-run store.

Responsibilities include open/close duties, inventory management, and maintaining merchandising standards while delivering excellent service to customers in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and company policies.
• Provide proper training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; counsel up to termination as needed.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events to ensure safety and policy adherence.
• Open and close the store as required (minimum twice weekly each).
• Review operating statements to identify sales, profitability, and expense trends; control costs.
• Manage stock by planning orders, cycle counts, and seasonal inventory directions.
• Ensure proper merchandise presentation, pricing and signage; maintain accurate inventory and cash control.
• Lead superior customer service and maintain a clean, safe store environment.
